Jacob Capps
Pastor / Church Planter
Jacob Capps has been serving in ministry since 2012, after sensing God’s call while a freshman at North Carolina State University. He spent nearly a decade serving as a Student Pastor before being called into a Lead Pastor role at a church just outside of Wilmington, serving churches across North Carolina along the way.
During that time, God led Jacob to First Baptist Church of Indian Trail, a church with a strong heart for sending and multiplying the gospel. As the leadership of Indian Trail prayed about planting a church in Sunset Beach, the Lord brought everything together and clearly aligned that vision with Jacob’s heart to help lead the church plant and reach people in this growing coastal community.
Jacob earned his B.A. in Pastoral Ministry from Clear Creek Baptist Bible College and his M.A. in Church Revitalization from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Jacob and his wife, Hope, have been married since 2020 and have three children: Lyza, Lainey, and Luke. In his free time, he enjoys being with his family, more than likely watching a Disney princess movie, or on a playground, going to the beach, and playing golf.
